Being away from home during the holidays is never easy, especially for members of the military who are serving overseas. Holidays From Home for Our Troops helps ease the pain by sending care-packages to U.S. Troops overseas.

To raise money and goodies to go into the packages, the organizers will be holding a bake sale and silent auction on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the V.F.W. at 2142 E. Garfield Street. All proceeds will go to the Holidays From Home for Our Troops to send out care-packages to U.S. Military soldiers.

If you would like to donate to the bake sale and/or silent auction, it must be dropped off at the V.F.W. no later than 11 a.m. on Nov. 19. Any donations to be sent overseas in the packages must be dropped off by 7 p.m. on Nov. 19 must be non-hazardous with no refrigeration required.

To organize a donation drop-off before Nov. 19, call Denise Welker at (307)223-6511.

You can learn more about this event and cause by listening below to Laramie Live from Nov. 4th. Denise came on the show and talked with Kari Eakins about Holidays From Home for Our Troops.
