Additional Information

American bluegrass band Steep Canyon Rangers will be performing in Laramie Saturday, March 1 at 8 p.m. at the Gryphon Theatre in the Laramie Plains Civic Center. Local Laramie band J Shogren & the Shanghai'd will be opening for the band.
Having met and discovered a shared passion for acoustic music at the University of Chapel Hill in North Carolina in 1999, the musicians of Steep Canyon Rangers have since performed all across the United States. In addition to winning a Grammy in 2013 for their album Nobody Knows You, the band has also made a name for themselves through their musical collaboration with comedian, actor and talented banjo player Steve Martin.
“The Steeps continue to be rooted in bluegrass tradition while simultaneously creating their own distinct musical identity,” says Nancy Cardwell of the International Bluegrass Music Association.
A mix of both traditional and progressive bluegrass, Steep Canyon Rangers bring about a unique musical experience that will appeal to all bluegrass fans with each performance. Gifted with a strong knack for songwriting, Steep Canyon Rangers have prepared a pleasant mix of both original and cover songs that make for an upbeat ragtime concert that all audiences are sure to enjoy.
This event is open for all ages. Tickets are $17 for general admission and will go on sale January 10th. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
