Additional Information

Relative Theatrics presents a reading of WANDA, DAISY AND THE GREAT RAPTURE by Alexis Schaetzle and directed by Anne Mason as part of the PLAYWRIGHTS VOICED series. Supported in part by grant funding from the Wyoming Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The moon hangs low over a trailer park in Pawley Island, South Carolina when Daisy unexpectedly returns home from a youth reformatory program. Step-sister Wanda reluctantly houses Daisy as she splits her time taking care of dementia-ridden Bud, making ends meet at the local Piggly-Wiggly, and volunteering at the local church. While Bud is sure that his late wife was taken from him in the rapture, Wanda and Daisy explore sisterhood, spirituality, and the possibilities of life beyond the swamplands.
PLAYWRIGHTS VOICED returns for its third year pioneering new works with a goal of developing and promoting local talent in playwriting, directing, and acting. The series features 4 nights of staged readings of new plays by local and regional developing playwrights.
PLAYWRIGHTS VOICED runs at the Laramie Plains Civic Center (LPCC) Gryphon Theatre Wednesday, May 3rd through Saturday, May 6th. A different play is presented each night. All performances are at 7:30pm. Each reading is followed by an optional audience chatback with the playwright, actors, and artistic team.
Tickets: Single Tickets are $5. They can be purchased online at www.gryphontheatre.org or by going into the LPCC office (Room 110) during business hours. Seating is limited to 50 tickets per performance.
