Additional Information
Laramie's own "Candra Wyoga" presents an afternoon of gamelan music, dance and drama from the island of Bali, Indonesia. The performance will feature dancers and musicians from Bali, along with guests from one of the premier gamelan groups in the U.S. (Denver's "Tunas Mekar"). Additionally, students from a University of Wyoming honors class on the art & culture of Bali will perform. The highlight is sure to be the appearance on stage of the Barong, a traditional lion-like creature who ritually acts out the eternal struggle between good and evil.
