Suzaan Boettger, Ph.D. will discuss "Affective Environmentalism in Contemporary Sculpture & Photography” Friday, Sept. 23, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 111 of the University of Wyoming Visual Arts Building.

Boettger will discuss aspects of earthwork and land art of the 1960s and subsequent and current socially engaged environmental sculpture and photography; predecessors in 19th century landscape painting and photography; and a few works from the exhibition “WASTE LAND: A Survey of Works by Brandon Ballengée, 1996-2016.”

The lecture is free and open to the public, courtesy of the UW Honors Program, Wyoming Institute for Humanities Research and the University of Wyoming Art Museum.
