Laramie Lyceum lecture series held Tuesday a.m. October 4, 11, 18, and 25 beginning at 9:00 and ending at roughly 11:30. Two different lecture subjects are presented each week.
The week of October 4 features a discussion of WPR Public Radio's 50 years of broadcasting and beyond at 9:00 followed by a UW Geological Museum Program by Laura Vietti about the rich fossil record found in southeast Wyoming.
On October 11 at 9:00 Laurie Heath will discuss how Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative has taken up the cause for breast cancer awareness in Wyoming. At 10:30 Mandy Fabel of the Wyoming Community Foundation will talk about "Generosity: The Foundation of Youth."
On October 18 at 9:00 John Waggener will discuss the controversial stretch of I-80 between Laramie and Rawlins known as the Snow Chi Minh Trail and at 10:30 the Deerwood Ranch Wild Horse Eco-Sanctuary will feature Jana and Rich Wilson who will discuss how this Centennial valley ranch came to care for over 300 wild mustangs.
On October 25, Dr. Jubal Yennie, ACSD#1 Superintendent, will discuss how things are going with the new high school in a talk titled The Rest of the Story at 9:00 followed at 10:30 by The "Nowhere Men". Ken Gerow and friends will entertain with a variety of music.
People of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend any or all of the presentations. Each talk is followed by a question and answer period.
