The University of Wyoming Art Museum will host “Evening Conversations with Curators” Tuesday, January 31, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

January’s event will discuss “Appalachia: Photographs by Shelby Lee Adams, 1989 – 2009,” an exhibition on view through Saturday, May 13. Visitors will be joined by Nicole Crawford, Curator of Collections and Katie Christensen, Curator of Education and Statewide Engagement in an informal gallery walk-through at the UW Art Museum.

Discussion will include stories behind Adam’s connections to Appalachia, interpretation of contemporary imagery, and conversations about the marginalized, socially excluded culture of the mountain people from the Eastern Kentucky hollers.

This special evening event is part of the annual “Martin Luther King Jr. Days of Dialogue” week of programming, January 30-February 4, 2017. An event schedule is available at www.uwyo.edu/studentaff/mlkdod/schedule-of-events
