The 2013 University of Wyoming Football season is right around the corner, and the UW Athletics Department is offering a number of different ticket options to fit the needs of individual fans and their families. Fans may begin ordering single-game tickets and three-game mini-packs Friday, July 26, beginning at 5 p.m., Mountain Time, through the official University of Wyoming Athletics Website at www.gowyo.com/tickets.
A brand new FieldTurf Revolution playing surface with a distinctive Wyoming design will be unveiled on Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium for the 2013 college football season. Installation is scheduled to begin June 1 and be complete by mid-summer.
The Wyoming Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes is making preparations for a second “Wyoming in Haiti” trip, set to take place May 11-17. This marks the second-straight year the FCA has organized a trip to the island to help Haitian youth.
The Wyoming Cowboys conducted their second spring practice on Wednesday morning with the emphasis continuing on fundamentals and increasing the pace of practice. Fifth-year Wyoming head coach Dave Christensen liked the improvement of his team from day one to day two of spring drills, but still emphasized after practice the need for his team to continue to improve each and every day of the Cowboys’ 15 spring practices.
University of Wyoming head football coach Dave Christensen announced Wednesday new coaching and administrative responsibilities for members of his football staff, including the official hiring of three new assistant coaches. One of the key changes is that Christensen will call the plays on game day for the Pokes.
The Mountain West Conference announced conference football match-ups for the 2013-16 seasons Tuesday. In 2013, the Wyoming Cowboys will, for the second consecutive year, host arch-rival Colorado State in War Memorial Stadium for the annual “Border War”. Wyoming’s other conference home games in 2013 will include: Fresno State, Hawai’i and New Mexico. The Cowboys Mountain West road trips this coming season will take them to: Air Force, Boise State, San Jose State and Utah State. Dates of games, game times and television coverage will be announced in the weeks to come.
Wyoming football will have a new offensive coordinator for 2013. New Mexico State announced on Friday that it has hired Gregg Brandon as the Aggies' new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
