Candidates for Laramie City Council Primary Election

The filing deadline has come and gone for anyone wishing to run for Laramie City Council and here are the candidates who are hoping to make it onto the general election ballot this fall. This is the first election of council members from the new three ward system. As such there will be two current council members running against each other for just one open seat in Ward Three while there will be a new council member elected in Ward One. Here's the full breakdown from the City of Laramie:

Ward Two: 2 seats

Ward Three: 1 seat

We will be sure to get you plenty of information on all of the candidates as we draw closer to the Primary Election on August 21, 2012. The top two vote getting candidates for every open seat will get their name on the November 6 General Election ballot. That means the General Election ballot will have four candidates for Ward One, four candidates for Ward Two and two candidates for Ward Three. Laramie City Council members are elected to four year terms.
