The City of Laramie’s tree lighting and Gem City Starlight Christmas parade is coming up Friday, December 2nd at the First Street Plaza, located at the corner of First Street and Grand Avenue. The official tree lighting will take place at 6pm followed by the parade that will surely get you into the holiday spirit. However, for those who are 21 and older and are looking for a little more excitement stick around and prepare yourself for the Bikini Run that will start at 7pm!

The Bikini Run is a fundraiser for the Downtown Laramie Business Association. If you want to participate in the bikini run there is a $15 entry fee and you will get a t-shirt! I spoke with Beth Young of the DLBA who is in charge of the event. She said that the Bikini run puts an emphasis on the participation of adults and college students. The event isn’t actually a run at all; rather it puts a unique spin on a pub crawl that can be done at one’s own pace.

Follow these simple guidelines to make the most out of your Bikini Run!

  • Register for the run (Bring this form to the 1st street plaza on the night of the event), pay the $15 entrance fee, & get a fun t-shirt!
  • You must dress in summer time attire!
  • Take a shot at each participating bar. (Each bar chooses the shot and shots will be at a reduced price)
  • After each shot collect a pin.
  • If you’ve collected a total of 6 pins enter your name into the special raffle!

Again, this event is a fundraiser for the Downtown Laramie Business Association. The funds raised will be split in half and will go towards the DLBA and to Arnold Chiari. For those wanting to participate but do not want to drink then don’t worry, as non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. However, you must still meet the 21 and over age requirement. As Christmas approaches there is a lot going on all over Laramie so check back as we will be posting up cool things to do around town, and if you Like us on Facebook we'll keep you up to date!
