The Question:

There is a parking ordinance which makes it illegal to park a vehicle on a city street if it is for sale. The law actually states that it's illegal if it's being held for storage or for sale. So if the vehicle is still registered and is being driven with a for sale sign in a side window is that illegal?

The Answer:

“The ordinance specifies if the vehicle has a “for sale” sign in the window and it is parked on a public right of way, it is in violation. There are no ordinances prohibiting someone driving a vehicle that has a “for sale” sign in the window unless the sign is in any way obstructing the view of the driver.

10.36.170 Parking on highways for sales or storage
