The Question:

Is the city spreading water to control on the dirt streets in west Laramie or something else? I've noticed a residue on my drive way. It showed up where my brother parks his care and appeared the day I saw the truck spraying something. I am wondering what the source might be?

The Answer:

“The street division has completed the first application of magnesium chloride a dust suppression agent to control dust on the gravel streets. This product has been applied every year to stay compliant with DEQ regulations and help maintain the gravel streets. This product minimizes dust which is a nuisance of gravel streets and also holds the streets together to prevent potholes and bumps from forming as quickly. If you have any questions on this product or the application please call Shane Johnson at the street division 721-5277 and he will be glad to answer any questions about the product.”
