A Night at the Museum

The Laramie Dance and Arts Center will be hosting its annual recital on Saturday, June 3 at 1 p.m. in the auditorium at Laramie High School.

The program, which will feature demonstrations from various classes taught by the center’s 14 instructors, will have a “Night at the Museum” theme to allow the instructors more creative freedom with the performances.

“We have cavemen, fine art, precious gems, the most adorable baby dinosaurs, Irish immigrants fresh off the boat at Ellis Island…and of course, when you have a museum, jewel thieves are always a possibility” says owner Levi Hime.

Hime and his wife Katie took over the facility, formerly known as the Laramie Dance Center, in 2015. The renaming of the building was a “deliberate move to frame the direction they were taking the center,” according to a press release.

“Over the years, we have added items such as Snowy Range Music Together, music lessons, fitness classes, Snowy Range Taekwondo, even Japanese lessons. Our aim is to be a diverse place where Laramie residents can explore the arts,” adds Hime.

The recital, which features performers ranging in age from 2 to 60 years old, is free to the public.
