Wyoming’s Adjutant General: ‘I Don’t See the Draft Coming Back’
Despite low recruitment numbers, Wyoming's adjutant general says he doesn't see the draft coming back.
Major General Luke Reiner says the all-volunteer force is an "American treasure" and it's strategically important for the U.S. to keep it that way.
"When young men and women volunteer to serve this nation they approach it from a different attitude," said Reiner. "That's one of the things that makes our military the best this world has ever seen."
"They're well motivated, they're well led, this nation has well equipped them and as you look at how our formations perform around the globe it's unparalleled," Reiner added.
Reiner says there are fantastic opportunities in the guard and in the armed forces to have a career as well as serve the country.
"This nation needs a strong military," said Reiner. "This globe needs America to have a strong military."
