The long weekend is a perfect opportunity to catch the Pokes' first home game this Saturday. The Wyoming Department of Transportation wants to help drivers get there, with minimal construction-related headaches.

WYDOT stated the City of Laramie itself has several construction projects going on. Notably is the intersection of Third and Grand which is closed due to water main repair. The last city report said the intersection would be opened after Labor Day weekend.

Driving should be smooth sailing between Cheyenne and Laramie.

North of Laramie on US30 and Hwy 287, construction is wrapping up and no delays or lane closures are anticipated.

Travelers taking I-25 need to be aware of various construction projects south of Casper. While no significant delays are expected, drivers are to stay alert for potential lane closures and reduced speeds.

Between Rawlins and Laramie, paving and bridgework continues on I-80 near Arlington. There will be reduced speed limits and lane closures in that area, but no stoppages or significant delays are expected.

The Fort Steele Rest Area east of Sinclair remains closed due to construction.

WYDOT reminds drivers they should always stay alert for changing conditions and avoid driving distracted or impaired. Be sure to check road conditions before you travel at WYDOT’s road conditions website here, by downloading WYDOT’s 511 travel app, or by calling 511.
