Southeast Wyoming residents can expect unseasonably warm temperatures through midweek, but changes are on the way towards the weekend, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.

The service posted this statement on its website on Tuesday:

"Get out and enjoy the beautiful weather through Wednesday! Dry conditions will persist, along with very warm temperatures with highs in the 60s to near 70 degrees for many areas. Unfortunately, this will be short lived. Slightly cooler temperatures arrive on Thursday with increased chances for showers and thunderstorms over portions of the area. Rain will become widespread Thursday night and will likely change to snow on Friday morning. Potential accumulations remain highly uncertain due to a number of factors, but those with travel plans across southeast Wyoming and the western Nebraska Panhandle from Friday into early Saturday may want to keep a close eye on forecasts due to the potential for winter conditions."
