The injury bug has hit the Wyoming Cowboys, and it’s been particularly hard on the offensive line, as the Pokes finished their fourth practice of spring drills Tuesday.

Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl spoke with the media in the video above about the latest practice overall but had bad news regarding their offensive line. He touched on the return of receiver C.J. Johnson, the quarterback position, veteran Tyler Hall’s switch back to cornerback, and more.

Bohl released word on that redshirt junior guard Gavin Rush will miss the 2019 season with a torn ACL. He went down in practice last Thursday. Rush missed 2018 with a torn right biceps. Also, offensive lineman Gavin Dunayski suffered a recent injury that has him out. Bohl said they’ll learn more in the next couple of days.

There were already three linemen sitting out of spring practice before this rash of injuries. Those three were tackles Alonzo Velazquez and Frank Crum, as well as, sophomore center Keegan Cryder.

Wyoming was planning three scrimmages during the 15 practices this spring, but no word on whether those will be impacted by the injuries up front. The Cowboys return to the practice field Thursday.
