The Wyoming Cowboys are winding down spring football practice, as they went through their 14th session Thursday ahead of Saturday’s Spring Game.

Coach Bohl even cut practice a little short Thursday afternoon.

As Wyoming gears up for its Spring Game in Laramie at 2 p.m. Saturday inside War Memorial Stadium, Bohl recapped Thursday’s session and then looked ahead to Saturday. In the video above, Bohl discussed what he wants to see in the game, how injuries are impacting things, touched on the battle at quarterback, and talked about the addition of grad transfer running back Trey Smith to the program. He committed via social media earlier this week.

Smith is a 6-0, 218 running back. He played in 32 games for the Louisville Cardinals from 2016-2018. Smith averaged 5.1 yards per carry with 415 yards on 82 carries. He also caught 10 passes for 74 yards. His dad is former Jacksonville Jaguars career receiving leader Jimmy Smith. His mom is Sandra Smith.

It’s also been announced that the Pokes will wear a special decal on their helmets for the Spring Game to honor Naphtali Moi Moi. The 2019 recruit went missing off the coast of Half Moon Bay, CA earlier this month when he was caught in a rip tide. The helmet decal will have the initials NM and the number 50 in black and white in honor of the fallen Cowboy.

The Spring Game starts at 2 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
