UPDATE, 1:30 p.m.: WYDOT has moved the estimated opening time to between 8 and 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

According to WYDOT, much of the interstate is under a "rolling closure." WYODT enacts rolling closures when towns are at capacity so travelers don't go to the next town down the highway and become stranded.

Most of Interstate 80 is closed from both ends of Wyoming, while Interstate 25 is dangerous from Casper to the Colorado state line after a winter storm dumped snow on much of the Cowboy State's southern half.

As of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, most Interstate 80 is closed from Cheyenne to Evanston with small portions being open in the Rock Springs and Granger areas.

The estimated reopening time is between 4 and 6 p.m., according to WYDOT.

Meanwhile, WYDOT has issued a no unnecessary travel advisory from Casper to the Colorado state line.

US 287 from Medicine Bow to the Colorado state line is also closed. WYDOT says it should reopen between 4 and 6 p.m.
