Update: 8,154 people were served breakfast on Friday, according to Sam Weinstein of the Cheyenne Kiwanis Club.

Another year of Cheyenne Frontier Days Pancake Breakfasts is in the books, after several thousand people were served the free meal on Friday morning at the Cheyenne Depot Plaza.

While a count fo the total breakfasts served was not immediately available on Friday, 9,109 such breakfasts were served on Wednesday morning.

Wednesday of CFD week usually has the highest count of such breakfasts, in part because Wednesday is "Cheyenne Day," a local holiday when many Laramie County businesses are closed. The free CFD pancake breakfasts are organized by the Cheyenne Kiwanis as well as local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Besides being a big part of Frontier Days, they also serve as a drill for serving large numbers of people in case of a disaster.
