This Monday, March 26th at 7:30pm at the Budweiser Events Center, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra will strum the first chords of its wildly popular show. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) is a rock band like no other.  They revive many traditional songs by putting them into the rock genre, forming what they call a “rock opera.”  And this “rock opera” has taken the world by storm.  TSO has sold over 7 million albums, been mentioned as a top act by Billboard, played to over 7 million people in over 80 cities, and sold more than $280 million in ticket sales.

The goal of TSO, according to its founder Paul O’Neil, is “to create a progressive rock band that would push the boundaries further than any group before, following in the footsteps of Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Pink Floyd, the Who...but take it way, way further." He combined his literary and musical tastes in rock, musicals, Motown, Oscar Wilde, and Robert Graves to create the sound of TSO.  From his involvement with the music world, O’Neil gain friends such as Jon Oliva, Bob Kinkel, Al Pitrelli, and Dave Wittman, all of whom were instrumental in creating TSO.

Originally, TSO focused on creating Christmas music, which became very successful.  However, TSO has also branched out into non-Christmas music, such as their album Beethoven’s Last Night.  With their popularity growing, TSO has also expanded out from touring during the holiday season, consequently explaining why they are playing in Loveland in March.

O’Neil makes sure that no one in his audience has a bad seat.  He wants to stun people not only with the music, but with the accompanying visuals, such as pyro, lights, and lasers.  With O’Neil’s guarantee that there is no bad seat in the house, buying tickets for the TSO will be slightly more affordable.  Tickets bought directly through the Budweiser Events Center run between $105-$189 per ticket.  Other ticket locales proved cheaper.  The most affordable was StubHub, with tickets ranging from $79-$148.  Ticket Liquidator and Tickets Review were slightly more expensive with tickets between $86-$149.  However, the prices many worth it, since they are only playing on night in Loveland.
