Summer is not over yet! Sure school starts in one week and then it's back to homework and making school lunches. If you have done your school shopping you are ahead of the game. If you are like me, you want to cram as much fun into the summer before it's too late.  Hopefully it will remain nice in the daytime for a couple months (wishful thinking I know). Here is a list of the top 5 things to do with your kids before it's too cold.

1. A Day at the Pool: Take those kids for a day at the Recreation Center indoor and outdoor pool and stay for the day. Maybe take a break and have a leisurely lunch and go back and pretend your on vacation in the Caribbean!

2. Take your Kids Fishing: The rivers around Laramie and lakes up in the Snowys are at perfect levels for fishing, canoeing, or boating. Take a picnic lunch and find a perfect spot to relax. We found a stretch on the Big Laramie that has a huge sand bar and we hung out all day with the kids and the dogs.

3. Go to a Rockies Game: We are going to the Rockies versus the Dodgers this Saturday for an afternoon game that promises to be fun. My father-in-law is a long time Dodgers fan, and my side of the family are Rockies fans, so it always is fun to get into the playoff spirit!

4. Water World: Going to Water World in Denver is always a blast! After you get into the park it is non-stop water fun. There can be long lines but the wave pool offers fun without the wait.

5. Camping in the Snowys: Now that most of the camping spots are open it is the perfect way to escape the heat and get in one or two more camping trips. These are the things kids remember from their childhood so I try to make them as fun as possible. I remember my normal Dad and vacation Dad- vacation Dad was always better!
