This Weekend in Laramie: Father’s Day Edition

Well, dads…there are some menu specials around town for you (and at Albany Lodge), but for most of the weekend, it’s about Laramie. You can pretend the all-day Friday party, the color run, and the drum corps performance are for you and even make it believable at Touch-A-Truck. The Centennial Valley Volunteer Fire Department open house has some dad-appreciated fun in store, and a lot of musical opportunities are available too.

Blue Sky Summer Festival

Party all day and night to celebrate all that is Laramie at the 3rd Annual Blue Sky Summer Festival. Local bands, food, artists, performances, yoga, and so much more in the name of Laradise. Blue Sky Group’s party is for “bringing people together and celebrating the passions and dreams of the Laramie community.” 

• When: 10 a.m. - midnight

Living in Color 5K Fun Run

“At the end of life, we are always reminded of the importance of living each day to its fullest,” so Hospice of Laramie wants runners, skippers, or walkers to have fun while raising money to help support their mission of “promoting dignity and comfort at the end of life” (HospiceofLaramie.org).  

• When: Registration at 8:15 a.m.; race at 9 a.m. 
• Where: 1754 Centennial Dr. 
• Cost: $30 single runner; $100 group of 4

Touch-A-Truck

The family-favorite event is back for its 6th year. Kids (and adults, let’s be honest) can live their excavator dream out in real-life. Explore heavy machinery and big trucks, and support the Laramie Recreation Center’s Scholarship fund in doing so.

Centennial Valley Volunteer Fire Department Annual Open House & Fundraiser

The hard-working volunteers at the CVVFD throw the best party to support their station and community. A free pig roast and a variety of desserts, emergency vehicle rides, a .357 raffle, and a silent auction are on the agenda.

Brews and Shoes

Blue Devils' “Thank You Laramie” Performance

The Blue Devils, “The most decorated corps in the history of [drum corps international]” (BlueDevils.org), is performing a free show at War Memorial to say thank you to Laramie for the pleasure of rehearsing in the Gem City for the last month.
