The French Place Bids Laramie Adieu

Laramie is down another restaurant. This time, it's The French Place at 207 S. 3rd St. that has closed its doors for good.

The restaurant lasted about a year in a building that has seen several short-lived establishments such as the Parachute Grille.

Management could not be reached to explain why The French Place pulled up stakes, but folks in Laramie were clearly sorry to see the restaurant go.

Laramie has seen a fairly quick succession of restaurant closings this spring. Beans and Bytes, Bailey's and Shari's are some of the most recent casualties.

But it's not all doom and gloom. The new Dairy Queen at 1253 N. 3rd St. was packed for its soft opening on Memorial Day.

Laramie might be short on French cuisine, but with over 70 restaurants listed on TripAdvisor, locals still have plenty of places to eat.
