Laramie's new Dairy Queen will open for business Monday morning.

Starting at 10:30 a.m. on Memorial Day, the Gem City's newest restaurant will offer a full menu including hamburgers, chicken strip baskets and the chain's staple ice cream treats.

Brandon Davison of Falcon Enterprises says the restaurant will be open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m. It will be located on the site of the old Cherries restaurant at 1253 N. 3rd St.

Monday will be a 'soft opening.' Management will monitor operations and work out the kinks as necessary. Davison says the restaurant's hours of operation could change depending on the amount of business.

Davison says the restaurant's grand opening will be held in June once operations have been refined and things settle down into a steady routine.

A restaurant opening is refreshing news. In the last two weeks, Laramie lost two restaurants that had been fixtures for decades.
