The Friends of the Library are having their annual book sale aptly named, "The Big One", November 2nd through November 10th at the Albany County Public Library. Although the book sale is massive and probably the biggest book sale of the year (hence The Big One denotation), the best description, however, may have been coined by 11 year Friends of the Library member, Mary Vrooman. " I call it, recycling at its finest." Sure, the impetus behind the sale is to make money, but "The Big One" offers more than that.Hidden in the catacomb-esque basement of the Albany County Public Library are a bevy of treasures for every person of every age group. Books are donated throughout the year by the people of Laramie and volunteers from the Friends of the Library spend countless hours appraising and organizing the donations year round. For those in search of more than books, the event offers: dvd's, music cd's and books on tape for sale as well.

The goal for this year's sale is beat the amount of money they made last year, which was an astonishing $40,000. In addition to serving the community of Laramie through their work with the library, the Friends of the Library organization also lives up to its name by supporting the library with the money they earn from the sale. Friends of the Library board member, Betsy Moore speaks on how the organization is a fiscal safety net of sorts for the library.

"The Big One Sale" will start November 1st for people who are members of the organization and November 2nd for the general public. "The Big One Sale" is also available online for books that are over the price of $10, through Amazon.com. Attendees are welcomed to join the Friends of the Library organization at the sale for an annual fee of $10 dollars for individuals or $15 for a family.
