Cowgirl soccer gets a chance to get running against the South Dakota Coyotes Friday, Aug. 12, at 5 p.m. in Hastings, Neb.

The University of Wyoming women’s soccer team will travel to Cheyenne to host an outreach game against the Northern Colorado Bears on Tuesday at 7 p.m. MT.

Three post-season events are highlighting the Laramie Sports Calendar for the next week, and none of them are in Laramie.

The Laramie Plainsmen will vie for a third straight state cross country title, while a first place showdown on the pitch will involve the Wyoming Cowgirls.

There’s conference championship action for two Laramie High School teams, plus key games and matches for University of Wyoming squads.

Wyoming Cowgirl Soccer won two big conference games, while swimming and diving started a new season to highlight last weekend’s UW Olympic sports action.

The local sports scene for University of Wyoming and Laramie High School teams over the next week is still fairly busy.

For the second straight week, there’s a high school sport involved in a culminating event. There’s also one new team that has their first competition.

The post-season is here for a couple of high school teams, while two University of Wyoming teams begin action in the Mountain West Conference.

The University of Wyoming cross country teams both won the team crown at the Montana State Invite in Bozeman last Saturday.
