According to police, the shooting happened during an early morning traffic stop on Interstate 25 near East H Street and North Elma Street.

Police were responding to a reported kidnapping.

Two people were killed Tuesday night in an attack carried out by a young white man who was caught on cellphone video opening fire in the middle of the street with a semi-automatic rifle.

He was shot, apparently in the back, as he leaned into his SUV while his three children sat in the vehicle.

The jury was largely made up of women and people of color.

The officer involved was not injured. He has not been identified.

Trent said in a news conference Monday that it should be standard practice in the state to convene a grand jury for officer-involved shootings.

The decision to not charge Colling with involuntary manslaughter was announced Thursday after a grand jury found the use of deadly force justifiable.

Trent said there is no estimated timeline on when she will receive final reports or make a decision on the prosecution of Colling.

Trent did release copies of some emails relating to press releases from November 4, 6, and 13, as well as the ASCO Policy Manual, as requested.
