Pilot Hill

Not far from Laramie resides a wilderness gem. Pilot Hill rises out of the foothills of Laramie's prairie, a scenic wildlife habitat with some of the best views in the Laramie Basin. The area is relatively undeveloped, but that is changing. Recently, Pilot Hill announced that the Hughes Charitable Foundation donated $800,000 to fund the construction of trails central to phase one of the Pilot Hill

The Pilot Hill project in Laramie is being awarded with the 2020 Project of the Year by the Wyoming Planning Association.

The area will be open for limited recreation use starting on September 2.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission met to discuss conservation efforts, one of which will take place at Pilot Hill.

The Pilot Hill Land purchase will be up for discussion during two meetings scheduled for Thursday, March 22.

The Albany County Commissioners passed a motion to agree to the purchase and sale agreement of the Pilot Hill Property east of Laramie and to begin raising the $14 million to purchase the land in one year.

Is it legal or illegal to run Pilot Hill?

The Pilot Hill 25K Classic is the oldest continuously run footrace in Wyoming. The race has its roots back in the 1970′s when a group of local runners and university cross country team members decided to begin their summer training by racing from Laramie to the top of Pilot Hill and back down.
