Laramie Plains Civic Center

2011 marks the 15th year for Central City Opera's award-winning touring program and the 8th year of collaboration with University of Colorado-Boulder.  The 2011 tour of "Opera Rocks the Rockies" runs November 5 through November 12, 2011 throughout northern Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska. The Albany County Theater has several shows coming up soon, the first being Barrymore's Ghost. The show kicks off on November 3rd at 7:30 PM and plays nightly through November 5th at the same time. You can purchase tickets for the show online or at the Albany County Theater Box Office in the Civic Center; tickets are $12 a piece and there is a $2 discount for students, seniors, and the military. Paul Taylor an Australian performing artist will share his culture and perform on Friday, August 12th 7:30 pm at the Laramie Plains Civic Center. Bring the whole family for this great opportunity to learn about Australian culture through stories, music and dance.

Friday, May 13th 7:30pm at the Plains Civic Center Theatre Bryan Ragsdale is a MODERN DAY MOUNTAIN MAN from Wyoming. Bryan writes songs about living life under a big blue sky. Known as the eco-cowboy, his music reflects the values he was raised with the values he teaches his own children, ideals that are often overlooked in mainstream music today.

The Albany County Theatre will perform John Carianni’s Almost, Maine, directed by Bliss B. Ragsdale, at the Laramie Plains Civic Center Theatre in Laramie, WY. The show dates are March 31st, April 1st, 2nd, 7th, 8th and 9th. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for the general public and $10 for students, seniors and active military. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at the LPC

The musical group Colcannon has developed a distinctive, inventive, and contemporary musical style while still keeping in firm touch with the heart and essence of traditional Irish music and they are headed to Laramie this Friday.

Work on the Laramie Civic Center continues to proceed as the National Historical Site receives some much needed TLC. Part of the building, which was the old Eastside School, is over 130 years old. The theater, which dates to 1928, is currently the big focus.
