Chef Mathew Branson won a third place silver medal in the National Association of College and University Food Services Culinary Challenge on March 20th in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Their winning design in the category of “Advancement in Protective Equipment,” involves a new way of manufacturing material built from liquid-crystal elastomers that lend themselves well to being used as helmet padding.

The University of Wyoming Motorsports Club is ramping up their efforts for hands-on experience with a competition in 2019.

The Wyoming Motorsports club is hoping to use skills learned in the classroom in a real–life, hands on learning situation to build an electric formula race car and enter it in the Society of Automotive Engineers’ Formula Hybrid competition in 2019 in Loudon, New Hampshire.

The annual Elks Hoop Shoot competition will take place Saturday, Jan. 6 at the Laramie Community Recreation Center.

Brett Drake, a graduate of UW’s College of Engineering and Applied Science, won the Nike Ease Challenge, a contest to see who could produce the most innovative sneaker designs for athletes of all abilities.

Arundathi Nair, a freshman at Laramie High School, won first place in the nationwide competition with her documentary, “Fossil Fuels to Renewables.” It was aired on C-Span throughout the day on April 18.

The organization says on any given day, there are 55,000 homeless women veterans in the United States. Beebe has been hard at work to address that issue.
