If you need a reason (newsflash, you don't) to do the Buckhorn Tumble, get a wristband, and join other patrons for a historical tour of downtown Laramie bars this Friday, June 2. The Albany County Historic Preservation Board and the Alliance for Historic Wyoming are hosting the Historic Bar Crawl starting at 4:00 p.m.

Sip on Laramie's Tipsy History at the Historic Bar Crawl

For this seemingly live rendition of “Tombstone,” expert Laramie historians will take patrons on tours of the Cowboy Saloon, Buckhorn and San Luis Restaurant, and Front Street. Along the tour, patrons will discover building and business histories, historic facts, and other Wild West shenanigans on the tantalizing tidbit menu, along with discounted cocktails and local drafts, of course. Other participating locations on the bar crawl include Born in a Barn, Copper’s Corner, Lovejoy’s, The Ranger, Bud’s Bar, and The Library.

Bar Brawl Schedule and Event Details

Beginning at 4:00 pm at the Cowboy Saloon and Dance Hall, participants will be able to purchase wristbands for $10, with proceeds going to historic preservation efforts in Albany County and across the state of Wyoming. Each participant will also receive maps and can view historic photographs of the saloons featured, according to their press release.

Yesteryears of Historic Downtown Laramie Captured in Photos

Take a step into the past and discover the yesteryears of Laramie. Wyoming was one of the last states to join the Fifty Nifty, being number 44 in the Union. Laramie began its township journey in the 1860s, largely influenced by the construction of the Union Pacific Railroad and Fort Sanders.
