PRESS PASS: When in New England …
EAST HARTFORD, Conn., -- It's not often Wyoming heads to the northeast to play a football game.
In fact, the Cowboys rarely play in the eastern time zone. The last time was back in 2017 at Eastern Michigan. Before that, it was Appalachian State the year prior.
DJ Johnson and I had never been to Connecticut before, so this was a great opportunity to not only check out the Constitution State, but the surrounding area. We also had a pre-planned trip to Buffalo to take in a Bills game, too.

So, when in Rome, right? Or New England.
The day before Wyoming escaped with a 24-22 victory over UConn, we checked out the quaint town of Mystic. The Julia Roberts movie, Mystic Pizza, was based there. We had to try that. Not too shabby. We also found that we were just a stones throw from Rhode Island.
When would that opportunity ever come up again?
The beaches were awesome.
After the Pokes game Saturday -- which for a reporter ended at about 10:30 p.m. -- we hit the road for the six-hour trip. We hit Massachusetts and pretty much all of upstate New York, albeit in the wee hours of the morning.
Here are just a few shots from our trip to the northeast:
