Pete’s Game Room Coming To University of Wyoming
Pete’s Game Room, named after the University of Wyoming’s iconic Pistol Pete mascot, will have its grand opening with a full day of free events Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. in the lower level of the Wyoming Union.
As part of the program, comedian Hasan Minhaj will give a free performance from 8-9 p.m., also in the lower level of the Wyoming Union. The UW Student Activities Council sponsors the events.
Games that include billiards, table tennis, foosball, shuffle board and Xbox gaming will be free all day. “Tips and tricks” on how to become a better billiards and table tennis player will be demonstrated from noon-1 p.m.
Free food will be available from 4:30-7:30 p.m.; there will be a special appearance by Pistol Pete; and prizes will be given away. The winner of the grand prize will be drawn at 7:30 p.m. The winner must be present to win.
Minhaj is a comedian and actor located in Los Angeles. He is the upcoming co-host of the new E! Networks pilot “Up Down Club.” He recently was the host of “Failosophy” on MTV, has been featured on Chelsea Lately, the improv show “Disaster Date,” and the most recent season of “Arrested Development” on Netflix.
He is the host of the new documentary special, “Stand Up Planet,” starring alongside comedy legends Bill Cosby, Norman Lear and Carl Reiner. Hasan also has a popular video series on YouTube called “The Truth with Hasan Minhaj,” which has been featured in various publications, including the Huffington Post, Los Angeles Times, Gawker, Best Week Ever and US Weekly.
