Univ. of Wyoming May Require More Students to Live on Campus
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — University of Wyoming administrators are considering revisions to the school's housing policy to require all incoming freshmen living more than 30 miles outside of Laramie to live on campus.
UW trustee John McKinley said the full board of trustees has not yet reviewed the proposal, but he said some version of the idea is likely to be presented at the board's November meeting.
Vice President for Student Affairs Sean Blackburn says the new proposal aims to keep students from dropping out.
She acknowledges the proposal will cause concern and said the policy revision would likely be implemented slowly.
The proposal comes as UW administrators are working with state legislators on a full overhaul of the campus's dormitories.
