A man is dead and one woman injured after a vehicle struck their bicycles on US 87 about half a mile south of Sheridan around noon on Saturday, May 31.

According to officials with the Wyoming Department of Transportation, Larry and Sara Hurst were riding their bicycles in the southbound shoulder on the highway. Officials say Hannah M Terry, of Big Horn Wyo., was driving southbound when she drove her 2012 Dodge Caravan into the southbound shoulder and struck both bicyclists from behind.

Larry and Sara were both ejected from their bikes, and both were wearing helmets. Larry was pronounced dead at the scene, and Sara was taken to Sheridan Memorial Hospital where she was later Life Flighted to a hospital in Billings, Mont. Her current condition is not known.

WYDOT officials say Terry could possibly be charged with DWUI, aggravated vehicular homicide and driving without insurance. Charges are pending.
