(UWYO.EDU) The University of Wyoming cross country teams were each selected to finish sixth at the 2013 Mountain West Championships, the conference office announced today. The Cowgirls earned 57 points in a vote of the league's coaches, while the Cowboys had 20 points.

The Cowgirls return seven letter winners and four of their top seven finishers from a squad that finished sixth at last year's MW Championships. Junior Holly Page paced Wyoming claiming fourth individually, to earn First Team All-MW honors. The Cowboys welcome back their top four runners after a fifth-place finish last season, including senior Garrett Zans, who finished 16th at the championships. Both Wyoming squads were picked to finish fifth in last year's preseason poll.

The New Mexico women have won five-consecutive MW titles and are the favorite again with 100 points in the preseason poll, while the Lobo men have won four straight and topped this year's poll with 49 points. Boise State (85 points), Colorado State (83 points), Air Force (72 points) and Utah State (63 points) rounded out the top five on the women's side. Air Force (42 points), Boise State (34 points), Colorado State (34 points) and Utah State (24 points) followed UNM for the men.

The 2013 MW Championships will be hosted by Air Force at the Eisenhower Blue Course on Friday, Nov. 1.
