Laramie's own Holly Kennedy will be kicking off her year as Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2013 with a Coronation Ball on October 20th at WyoTech's West Laramie Campus. The event will include dinner, dancing, a silent auction and a live auction to help Kennedy raise funds for her year as Wyoming rodeo royalty.

Kennedy said she's had a full schedule since she earned the title of Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2013 in Douglas during the Wyoming State Fair & Rodeo in August. Her platform is all about instilling confidence as Kennedy said she will use her time to encourage others to "Stand Up, Stand Out and Speak Up" about what is important to them. Kennedy claims that although she has been involved in agriculture her whole life, she didn't care to be a rodeo queen when she was younger. It wasn't until she saw the impact that rodeo royalty have by inspiring people and advocating for agriculture that she decided she wanted to be a part of it.

Her official duties will begin on January 1, 2013 but before then she will have the opportunity to watch Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2012, Kimberly Kuhn, compete for Miss Rodeo America at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in December. Then she will be traveling the United States representing the sport of rodeo, the state of Wyoming and the Albany County community.

The Coronation Ball is a way to the community to show their support for Kennedy. Pre-sale tickets are available at Murdoch's, Boot Barn, Martindale's and First Interstate Bank in downtown Laramie. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 20th at WyoTech's West Laramie Campus at 2075 Venture Drive.
