Despite her staunch support of President Donald Trump for the entirety of his term in office, Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney expressed in a tweet earlier today that she was "deeply troubled," by President Trump's defense of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This comes after a join press-conference held by the two Presidents after a formal one-on-one summit held in Helsinki, Finland. Many of his remarks are being sharply rebuked by several Republican Lawmakers, Cheney included. Senator John McCain was the most outspoken, calling the press conference "one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president in memory.”

Cheney's tweet, which also explains her stance as a member of the House Armed Services Committee, comes with a warning that Russia poses a grave threat to United State National Security, and the suggestion of a "moral equivalence" between the US and Russia should be troubling for others as well.

Many commentators on Twitter asked Liz Cheney to act on her troubling feelings about the United States President and his relationship with the Russian President during their summit in in Helsinki.
