One of the Laramie Police Department’s newest hires has completed her training and has been assigned to the patrol division beginning next week.

LPD Chief Dale Stalder said Officer Amber Ferguson of Laramie was hired in December 2016 and then underwent a nine month training program. The program includes 13 weeks at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy, five weeks of in-house training, field training and two weeks of solo patrolling with a plainclothes training officer.

Stalder said another officer, Troy Glick, also of Laramie, will be completing his training shortly. Stalder said Glick was hired at the same time as Ferguson, but his training was delayed because he is in the National Guard and had to leave Laramie for a few weeks.

Stalder said both officers performed very well in training.
