On February 28, a dog bit a man in the thigh as he was picking up his children from Spring Creek Elementary School.

The victim reported that an adult female was walking north on north 11th street with 2 dogs and a female child. The dogs "dragged" the female to the victim and the smaller of the two dogs bit him. The female, child, and dogs then continued walking towards Sheridan St.

The first dog was reported as a reddish Shepherd mix, and the second as a smaller dog, weighing about 35 lbs.

Locating the dog who bit this man is important for rabies monitoring purposes.

Anyone with information on this dog or the owner is asked to call the Animal Control Unit at 721-5385 or the non-emergency Dispatch line at 721-2526.

The Animal Control Unit would like to remind the public that animal bites could involve exposure to rabies and that all animal bites must be reported to the Animal Control Unit immediately.
