Laramie PD Reminds City of Bicycle Ordinances
The Laramie Police Department sent out a reminder to the community regarding the Ordinances that govern bicycle riders and roller skaters in the city.
Below are the Ordinances:
- Municipal Ordinance 10.32.030 - Every person riding a bicycle upon a street, alley, public highway or roadway shall be granted all of the rights and shall be subject to all of the duties applicable to the driver of a motor vehicle under this title.
- Municipal Ordinance 10.32.060 - Every person operating a bicycle upon a roadway shall ride as near to the right side of the roadway as practicable exercising due care when passing a standing vehicle or one proceeding in the same direction.
- Municipal Ordinance 10.32.070 Not more than two abreast persons riding bicycles upon a roadway.
- Municipal Ordinance 12.04.020 - No person upon roller skates or riding in or by means of any coaster wagon, toy vehicle, or similar device shall go upon any roadway in this municipality, except while crossing a street on a crosswalk.
any bicyclists and roller skaters who violate municipal ordinances can be cited or arrested.
