Even some rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the special Laramie High School Spring Sports Senior Recognition on Friday night at Deti Stadium.

The event was held for the Class of 2020 student-athletes that didn’t get to compete during the spring high school season for boys’ and girls’ soccer, boys’ and girls’ track and field, and golf. Thirty-Five seniors were part of those sports at LHS.

The drive-through parade of vehicles around Deti Stadium honked horns, shouted, held up signs, and more for the 24 seniors that attended this event.

Seniors provided information for scripts that were read in the stadium over the public address system by Sean Moore and on KOWB (AM 1290) radio by David Settle. It included their name, parent’s names, the senior’s goals after high school, favorite memories while at LHS, and whom they wished to thank.

The ceremony lasted for 30 minutes and included staff from the high school that made sure social distancing was kept and that traffic moved along. Several vehicles made multiple trips around to show their support for the Class of 2020.

KOWB would like to thank our presenting sponsor, Laramie GM Auto Center – One Low Price, Plain and Simple, Always, for their help in our ability to provide coverage of this event. We’d also like to express our gratitude to Nicholas & Tangeman, LLC, Cowboy Glass, UniWyo Federal Credit Union, Scott McFarland State Farm Insurance Agent, and Toyota of Laramie.
