A fun night of football at Deti Stadium was capped with several touchdowns by the Laramie Plainsmen at their annual scrimmage and community barbecue.

Friday night a good crowd gathered for the second-annual event that featured football players in grades 4-12. The two middle school teams scrimmaged themselves (own grade level) in one session apiece, while the varsity, JV, and freshmen mixed and matched through three sessions in a limited scrimmage.

The varsity action was highlighted by two Jason Upton to Matt Smith touchdown passes, as well as an Upton to Baxter Tuggle screen pass that saw Tuggle weave his way, breaking tackles along the way, to the end zone. Tuggle also had a long run called back due to penalty.

This was Laramie's final piece of fall camp, which wrapped up one week prior to their 2018 season opener.

Second-year Laramie head coach Clint Reed was happy with the event. He talked about what he took away from the scrimmage and knowing they've got work to do to get ready for the Trojans this coming Friday night.

Laramie is at No. 3 Kelly Walsh Friday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m.
