UPDATE: Laramie, Western Laramie County Under Winter Storm Watch
UPDATE 4:25 P.M. The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has expanded the area covered by a Winter Storm Watch to include Larame and western Laramie County:
Our next winter system will begin to move into the region later tonight and continue through Friday before departing the region. Several Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories have been issued for this system valid throughout the event. OF NOTE: There is expected to be a break in snowfall Thursday morning and early afternoon across our southern zones including along the I-80 corridor and the mountains. The winter weather advisories in these areas will expire at 8 AM Thursday morning, but another batch of snowfall is expected Thursday evening into Friday morning, and another round of winter weather related products will be possible for this area.
Original post:Forecasters with the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service say a strong winter storm system could dump up to 10 inches of snow in low-lying areas of southeast Wyoming and up to 20 inches in the mountains.
Winter storm watches and warnings have been issued for much of the region. At last report, Cheyenne and Laramie were not under any watch or warning.
We asked Cheyenne-based meteorologist Don Day what our area can expect. here is his response: "We are on the edge again however thinking 2 to 4” a good bet, if it shifts just a tad more south will get more.''
Day is the founder and President of Dayweather Inc. in Cheyenne.

Another storm system is expected to track east late tonight with Winter Storm Watches expanded to include central Carbon County and the northern panhandle of Nebraska. Periods of moderate to heavy snowfall are possible across the area. Snow impacts may extend further south also, but uncertainty is higher for the I-80 corridor at this time.
