Southeast Wyoming Faces -40 Wind Chills, Winter Weather Advisories

Souhteast Wyoming is facing wind chills down to -40 this morning.

That's according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.

The agency posted the following on its website:

"Greetings! Windchill warnings continue this morning through 11AM. Expecting windchill temperatures in the 30 to 40 below zero range this morning. The good news? This should be the last day of really cold temperatures as westerly winds return to the area. High Wind Warnings are in effect for the wind prone areas. This should help to increase temperatures across the area today. Stay warm and dress in layers this morning!"

Interstate 25 near Bordeaux has been added to the High Wind Warning. Strong winds will return to southeast Wyoming today and Wednesday with gusts 30 to 40 mph. Wind-prone locations along Interstate 80 near Arlington and Vedauwoo, as well as the Bordeaux area on Interstate 25, could see gusts 60 to 70 mph at times leading to High Wind Warnings being issued. These strong winds blowing over areas with recent snowfall the past few days will lead to areas of blowing snow Tuesday and Wednesday. Therefore, Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for much of southeast Wyoming for reductions to visibility with blowing and drifting snow, including much of Interstate 80 between Rawlins and the Nebraska border as well as Interstate 25 from the Colorado border through Glendo.
