Air Force Times Magazine is reporting that an arrest has been made in connection with the July 20 death of an Airman at F.E. Warren Air Force Base near Cheyenne.

A phone call by Townsquare Media to the base's public information office on Monday was unable to either confirm or deny the report, but a public information officer said information on the case would be forthcoming sometime today.

Airman Who Died Was 21 Years Old

The 90th Missile Wing had previously identified the airman who died as 21-year-old Brayden Lovan. According to a July news release  from the 90th Missile Wing, Lovan was a defender assigned to the 90th Security Forces Squadron, 90th Security Forces Group.

The Air Force Times story did not identify the person arrested or any details on the arrest. But it did say the person was charged with  involuntary manslaughter, making a false official statement, and obstruction of justice.

The Air Force suspended use of the M18 Si Sauer pistol following Lovan's death.

Air Force Times says the investigation of the death is still continuing.

Lovan, who was originally from Kentucky, entered active duty on Nov. 6, 2023, with F.E. Warren being his first assignment. He had been assigned to the 90th Security Forces since May 8, 2024 according to the 90th Missile Wing.

Townsquare Media will report further details on this story as the information is made available.
