Five things I consider quintessentially Fall: sweaters, crisp mornings, turning leaves, pumpkin-flavored everything, and Oktoberfest. Cheyenne pays homage to German heritage this year, with four Oktoberfest celebrations bringing biergarten and pretzels to the city.

DID YOU KNOW? Oktoberfest used to take place in October. The first Oktoberfest celebrated a royal wedding in Munich circa October 12, 1810. The first festival lasted until October 17. Oktoberfest dates moved backward to take advantage of warmer September weather. VinePair states, "The last day of the festival is always on the first Sunday of October."
