Cheyenne East is the #2 seed in the 4A football playoffs and they earned a spot in the semi-final round with a 42-14 victory at chilly Okie Blanchard Stadium on Friday night. Rock Springs drew 1st blood in the game thanks to a 1-yard plunge for a touchdown from Michael Faigl so the Tigers had a 7-0 lead after one quarter of play.

East took over in the 2nd quarter as quarterback Cam Hayes had a pair of rushing touchdowns from 10 yards and a yard out to put the T-Birds in front 14-7. In the third quarter, East got serious as Drew Jackson turned in a trio of touchdowns on the ground, covering 33, 10, and 6 yards. In between all that, Hayes threw a 29-yard TD pass to David Hondel.

Cheyenne East was the 4A runner-up a year ago in Laramie and now they are one win away from a return appearance to War Memorial Stadium. The T-Birds are 9-1 and will host 8-3 Natrona in the semi-final round on Friday. Rock Springs concluded the season with a mark of 3-7.
