The 3A/4A State Basketball Tournament had some compelling stories, topped by the Cody girls finally reaching the top of the 4A mountain with an undefeated season. The Broncs went 25 for 25 and beat Thunder Basin in the 4A title game 65-53. Molly Hayes led Cody with 23 and Thunder Basin was led by Joelie Spelts with 20. The Bolts finished the season 22-5. Cheyenne East took 3rd in the 4A Girls bracket with a 47-42 win over Sheridan. East went 22-4 this past season and Sheridan finished at 15-11. Campbell County took 5th thanks to a 64-48 victory over Kelly Walsh. The Camels wrapped things up at 17-11 and the Trojans were 7-19.

In 4A Boys, Cheyenne East won a state title for the first time since 2006 with a 68-59 decision of Laramie. East got 18 points from Garet Schabs and Laramie was paced by Levi Bron with 29. East had an overall record of 24-3 last season and Laramie was 15-14. Cody went 15-11 on the season and captured 3rd place at the 4A State Tournament with a 57-50 win over Campbell County. The Camels concluded the year at 10-18. Riverton took 5th at State with a 53-49 win over Star Valley. Riverton went 21-6 on the year and Star Valley finished at 17-10.

In the 3A Girls State Tournament, the Douglas dynasty continued as they captured the 5th state title in the last  6 years with a 60-46 win over Buffalo. Douglas was 27-2 on the season and was led in scoring in the title game by Lauren Olson with 28 points. Buffalo wrapped up the season at 21-5 and they were led by Tess Rule in that championship game with 20 points. Newcastle took 3rd with a 41-40 win over Lyman. The Dogies went 19-7 and the Eagles finished 21-7. Powell took 5th with a 47-44 win over Pinedale as Powell was 18-10 in the 2022-23 season and Pinedale was 20-7.

Worland won their 2nd state championship in the last 3 years in the 3A Boys ranks as they edged Lyman 37-35 in the title match. Worland was 23-3 overall and got 13 points from Carter Clark in the championship game. Lyman was 21-5 on the year and was led by Braydon Bradshaw in that game vs. Worland with 20 points. Douglas placed 3rd in 2023 at 27-2 with a 45-38 victory over Buffalo as the Bison wrapped things up at 15-11. Powell grabbed the 5th place spot with a 65-56 victory over Lovell. Powell was 19-8 on the year and Lovell finished at 12-15.
